Director of Career ServicesPosition SummaryThe Director of Career Services provides leadership and direction for a comprehensive Career Services office in providing resources, programs and services to students and alumni seeking career planning, job and internship search preparation and employment (full-time/part-time/student) opportunities. The centers preparatory services (eg., resume critiquing, job search workshops, mock interview practice) support these core programs. The Director reports to the Executive Director of Alumni and Career Services in the Office of Advancement, while working closely and collaboratively with the Director of Student Success in the Student Success Center to deliver services to students and alumni.Essential Functions Manage the day-to-day operations to ensure efficient, timely and effective programs and services to students, faculty, alumni and employers. Manage, review, and market career services networking platform and its features to Benedictine community. Monitor, analyze and evaluate scope of services and plans, implement and direct new programs as needed. Oversee fiscal planning, operational budget and management. Supervise, provide guidance and leadership to student employees. Provide high quality career development services to students and alumni. Organize career seminars and workshops, network opportunities, and other career-related programs that are presented by staff, alumni and employers. Create on-going campus outreach efforts to engage students career development throughout their four years. Communicate with department chairs and other faculty to ensure the career services office is meeting the needs of departments. Maintain relationships with a robust number of established employers that consistently recruit on-campus. Implement outreach efforts to new employers to develop summer and full-time employment opportunities for students. Oversee all recruitment efforts including on-campus interviews, job listings, referrals, networking and area career fairs. Manage and review career information resources and the office of career services website. Prepare, publish and distribute an annual Career Services report on yearly activities and Senior Exit Survey conducted with the Office of Institutional Research and Assessment. Make presentations to prospective students and parents for the Office of Admission (Raven Days, Open House, Presidential Weekend, SOAR) as well as presentations during Raven Orientation Camp (ROC) and Benedictine College Leadership Seminar (BCLS). Promote the reputation of the college through involvement in local, regional, and national (e.g., NACE) organizations in the field of career services. Adhere to the Principles for Professional Conduct for Career Services.Position QualificationsCompetency Statement(s)The Director of Career Services must demonstrate proven ability to function in a leadership capacity, working with minimal supervision and a high degree of autonomy in establishing priorities and decision-making. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including verbal and written. Outstanding presentation skills in communicating effectively to large and small audiences. Knowledge of and ability to use computer applications and the internet for commonly used databases and web sources to assist students with internship, job seeking or graduate school exploration. Able to work effectively and sensitively with individuals from diverse cultures, ethnic groups, and backgrounds. Must possess a strong work ethic and personal integrity.EducationBachelors Degree required; Masters degree preferred in student development, human resources, educational administration or related field preferred.ExperienceOne-three year related experience.Apply
