Job Summary:
The Business Solutions Specialist Senior works on process and technology changes related to the implementation and/or modification of applications, systems or programs for both internal and external customers.

Provides highly-complex technical support and training on software applications to newly-trained end users and assist with application administration tasks delegated to the department.


• Partners with internal and external customers to complete the needs assessment

• Provides guidance, recommendations, and solutions to meet customer business needs

• Provides industry knowledge, proven processes and best practices to customers throughout the implementation process

• Frequently collaborates with IT Program & Project Management

• Simulates user issues and recommends system modifications to software engineers

• Fulfills application support requests via phone/email and shadow sessions

• Provides training on application via phone, email, webinar presentations

• Maintains detailed documentation in a call-tracking software database for all events

• Completes client requested application administration requests

• Processes escalated requests and customer complaints

• Provides second-tier support to end users

• Resolves highly complex system problems

• Coaches less experienced specialists

• May manage coverage schedules

• Requires comprehensive knowledge in own job discipline or field

• Performs specialized assignments; leads others to solve complex problems and develop non-traditional solutions

• Works independently, requiring guidance only in highly complex situations

• Interprets business environment and recommends best practices

• May lead functional teams or projects with moderate risks and resource requirements

• Works within functional policies; impacts achievements of customer, operational, project or service objectives

• Leads others to solve complex problems

• Identifies innovative solutions through sophisticated analytical thinking

• Presents difficult concepts utilizing negotiation techniques to lead others to adopt a different point of view

Education, Experience & Licensure:

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field preferred

• Typically requires 5-8 years of experience in similar industry/field
